The Steelers yesterday promoted Denzel Martin to the formal title of outside linebackers coach, a role he has been filling since 2019, when Joey Porter left the team. The team also hired former Ravens assistant Jason Brooks as defensive quality control coach.

Commissioner Roger Goodell and NFL owners are expected to finalize a multiyear contract extension at next week’s owners meeting in Phoenix. It’ll be the fourth time Goodell has been extended since he took over the position in 2006.
NFL Network’s Ian Rappaport says the NFL draft in late April has been set as a deadline for the Jets and Packers to complete an Aaron Rodgers trade.
Magic Johnson has joined the Josh Harris’s group as bidders for the purchase of the Washington Commanders. Josh Harris also owns the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers and the NHL’s New Jersey Devils and tried to buy the Denver Broncos last year.
Former Panthers and Patriots quarterback Cam newton, who did not play in the NFL last year, says he will be participating in Auburn University’s Pro Day, hoping to attract interest from an NFL team.
