Today, many stakeholders in Indiana borough and White Township will gather for the semi-annual I-ACT committee meeting.
The meeting will be held today at 1:00 at the PNC Room of the KCAC, and is designed to answer questions and finalize plans for the upcoming unsanctioned “IUPatty’s” celebrations which are traditionally held the first weekend after Spring Break. The I-ACT committee is made up of several entities ranging from county and municipal government, the university, local and state law enforcement agencies and first responders, local landlords and others.
The committee was formed after unsanctioned celebrations in 2014 turned into brawls that went out into the streets of Indiana Borough. Several people were charged in connection with the fights. In recent years, the number of incidents was down, in part due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
