The second phase of the Mentch Bridge replacement project starts tomorrow in Cherryhill Township. PennDOT says drivers should expect slower traffic through the project area and daylight lane closures as workers prepare for the replacement of the westbound bridge that carries Route 422 over the Route 553 off-ramp near Penn Run.
The project will include road work on both 422 and the 553 ramp. The lane closures will be for the construction of a temporary crossover road to carry traffic over to the eastbound lane.
The eastbound Mentch Bridge was replaced last year. The $7.6 million project is scheduled for completion next spring.
