Another bridge project is getting underway today in Plumville.
PennDOT announced that starting today, the Indiana Street Bridge over Plum Creek will be closed to traffic. Crews will work to replace the existing bridge with a box culvert and pedestrian sidewalk between Main Street/Route 85 and Corbett Avenue, near the Plumville Volunteer Fire Department.
The detour that will be put in place will have drivers from Main street turn left onto East Oak Avenue, then left onto Adams Avenue, turn right on Locust Street and follow to Corbett Avenue, turn right onto Chestnut Street, and then turn left onto Railroad Avenue. Those travelling on Railroad Avenue will follow the same detour, except in reverse.
The $1.3 million project will be worked on by crews from Charles J. Merlo. The closure is expected to last until October.
