INDIANA BOROUGH POLICE
Indiana Borough Police have charged an Indiana man with assaulting someone and making threats early Sunday morning. Police say they were called out at 1:03 in the morning to a home in the 500 block of Poplar Avenue for an incident of domestic violence. 23-year-old Jesse Orr allegedly attacked the victim, who was not identified, and threatened to kill three other people. Police found Orr in possession of a knife and a shotgun. Orr is charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, disorderly conduct, endangering the welfare of a child and recklessly endangering another person. Right now he is in Indiana County Jail after failing to post $25,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is set for June 1st.
Indiana Borough Police say they have charged a suspect with harassment, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. Police say that on May 15th at 3:57 PM, police were called out to a home in the 300 block of South 5th Street for a disturbance. It was reported that 46-year-old Hiram McGill had come to the home of a woman he knew to get some property. He yelled at her and hit the door, causing it to break. Police also say that when he came back later to retrieve his property, he pushed her. Citations against McGill will be filed at District Judge Guy Haberl’s office.

State police have charged an Indiana man with trying to steal from the state liquor store in the Town Fair plaza on Ben Franklin Road. Police say on Tuesday, May 26th, 24-year-old Michael Cochran allegedly tried to take a $16 bottle of rum from the store without paying for it. Police say this is Cochran’s first retail theft offense.
State Police are looking for a woman who stole a seven-pound bag of ice from a Saltsburg store. Police say that the theft happened on Monday at 10:40 AM at the Dollar General store on Leech Avenue. She allegedly took the ice out of the cooler and drove away in a Silver Honda Accord. If you have any information, call state police at 724-357-1960.
State police are looking for someone who cut a car part out of a vehicle parked in a car dealership lot. Troopers say sometime between May 15th and 19th, someone went to a 2000 Ford Excursion parked at the Southtowne Motors Lot on Oakland Avenue in White Township and cut the catalytic converter out of the SUV that was waiting to be bought. The value of the part is $800.
