Fishers across Pennsylvania may have to pay more for annual licenses next year.
The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission announced on Wednesday that fishing licenses for the 2024 season could increase by $2.50, which was the same increase that was implemented in 2022, and funds raised will be put towards upgrading different kinds of equipment.
Fish and Boat Commission Spokesperson Mike Parker attributed the potential increase to inflation, especially in the energy sector.
Public comment will be accepted during the process, but no date has been set for when comment will be accepted. Additionally, a final decision on a price increase could come later this spring.
