For the first time since 2016, the Pitt Panthers are in the NCAA Tournament…almost. Pitt is a No. 11 seed, but will be forced to play as one of the “First Four,” taking on Mississippi State in Dayton, Ohio for the right to be one of the 64 teams in the tournament field.
Pitt is 22-11 and Mississippi State is 21-12. The winner will play a first round game in the Midwest Regional against No. 6 Iowa State in Greensboro, North Carolina. Tomorrow night’s game is scheduled to tip off at 9:10 PM.
Alabama is the number one overall seed in the NCAA bracket, while Houston, defending champion Kansas and Purdue are the other top seeds.
