Indiana County Commissioners have announced that at their next virtual meeting on Wednesday, May 27th, they will consider approving the submission of an application for $100,000 through an Emergency Solutions Grant for those affected by Covid-19.
The grant’s funding comes from the CARES act that was approved on March 27th and, if approved, would be used to help residents with utility and rental assistance along with case management services. ICCAP would be used to provide these services.
To that end, the public and any interested agencies are being provided a chance to submit comments on the proposed application. According to the announcement, there are six eligible components for the grant: rapid rehousing; street outreach; homelessness prevention; emergency shelters; Homeless Management Information Systems; and administrative costs.
Comments must be submitted by 4 PM on Tuesday, May 26th. They can be mailed LuAnn Zak, Indiana County Office of Planning and Development, 801 Water Street, Indiana, PA 15701.
