Gas prices in Pennsylvania are starting to head back up now that most of the state is in yellow status.
The current average cost of a gallon of gas in Pennsylvania is now $2.14, which is up eight cents from last week at this time, and up five cents from where it was last month at this time. Triple-A says that the reason gas prices are going up once again is because of the increase in demand as states or portions of states begin to reopen and stay-at-home orders are lifted.
For Indiana County, the average cost of a gallon of gas is $2.26 a gallon. Gas prices in Indiana Borough and White Township, Homer City, and Blairsville are holding steady at $2.29. Among the neighboring counties, Clearfield County is reporting the lowest gas price average at $2.16 a gallon. Jefferson County’s average is $2.22 a gallon, while Armstrong is $2.23 a gallon. Cambria County’s average is $2.25 and Westmoreland County’s average is now $2.27 a gallon.
The highest averages in the state are in Warren and Cameron County, at $2.29 a gallon, while Carbon County has the lowest state average at $1.94 a gallon.
