The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported today that the number of people who tested positive for Covid-19 in Indiana County stayed at 84, with six deaths attributed to the virus, for a second consecutive day.
Indiana – the 15701 zip code – has the most positive cases with 24. The county has 22 ventilators. None are in use.
Among neighboring counties, Westmoreland reports the most positive cases increased by four in the last 24 hours at 427, with no change in the number of deaths (32). Armstrong County’s total of positive cases remained at 58 and deaths remained at five. Jefferson County stayed at seven positive cases. Cambria County increased by one to 54, with one death.
The number of positive cases in Pennsylvania reached 62,234, an increase of 623 from Saturday. The 26 to 49 year old age group has the most positive cases with 37 percent of the 62,234 cases. Reported deaths in Pennsylvania attributed to confirmed cases stand at 4,418, an increase of 15 in the last 24 hours.
These positive tested totals reflect how many people have tested positive since the Department of Health started recording and not how many people are currently ill.
While 62,234 have tested positive in the state, 270,670 have tested negative. Indiana County surpassed 1,000 people tested negative (1,005).
