The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported today that the number of people who tested positive for Covid-19 in Indiana County increased by two in the last 24 hours to 84 cases. One death was attributed to Covid-19, bringing the number of deaths to six in the county.
Indiana – the 15701 zip code – has the most positive cases with 24. The county has 22 ventilators. None are in use.
Among neighboring counties, Westmoreland reports the most positive cases increased by one in the last 24 hours at 423, with no change in the number of deaths (32). Armstrong County’s total of positive cases increased by one at 57 and deaths remained at five. Jefferson County stayed at seven positive cases. Cambria County increased by four to 49, with one death.
The number of positive cases in Pennsylvania reached 60,622, an increase of 986 from Thursday. The 26 to 49 year old age group has the most positive cases with 37 percent of the 60,622 cases. Reported deaths in Pennsylvania attributed to confirmed cases stand at 4,342, an increase of 124 in the last 24 hours.
These positive tested totals reflect how many people have tested positive since the Department of Health started recording and not how many people are currently ill.
While 60,622 have tested positive in the state, 259,210 have tested negative. In Indiana County, have 956 tested negative.
