An Indiana Barber who reopened his shop to help his friends could face some disciplinary action for cutting hair during the Coronavirus shutdown.
Rick Anderson is the barber at Anderson’s Haircutting, a barber shop that has been in business for more than 50 years. His business and other barbershops and salons were told to shut down as part of Governor Wolf’s shutdown order. Anderson said that since then he was only trying to help out his longtime friends with haircuts when he was contacted initially by Indiana Borough Police, telling him he needed to close.
Anderson added that the police on the phone call were very polite and courteous.
He then said on a second occasion, the Facebook page for his business noted he was open for business, and someone called the state board of cosmetology.
Anderson says he has no plans to reopen the shop at this time. A GoFundMe page was set up by some of his friends to help pay the bills and taxes and has raised nearly $4,000 as of this morning.
