State Police have charged a Northern Cambria man with assault for an incident on Sunday night in Burrell Township.
Troopers say they were dispatched at 11:14 last night for a report of an active domestic situation. Police learned that 31-year-old Brian Reed was involved in an argument with a 47-year-old Black Lick woman that turned physical when Reed punched the woman in the eye and shoved her into a wall. He continued to punch her before strangling her to the point that she could not breathe.
Reed was taken into custody and charged with simple assault, strangulation and harassment. He was arraigned this morning and is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on March 14th at 10:15 AM in front of District Judge Susanne Steffee.
