The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported today that the number of people who tested positive for Covid-19 in Indiana County went up by one in the last 24 hours to 76. The number of deaths attributed to the virus in the county remained at five.
Indiana – the 15701 zip code – has the most positive cases with 23, with 90 negatives. The county has 22 ventilators, with one in use.
Among neighboring counties, Westmoreland reports the most positive cases, with two reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 415, and deaths remained at 30. Armstrong County’s total of positive cases stayed at 55, with deaths at three, while Jefferson County stayed at seven positive cases. Cambria County increased by two cases to 42, with deaths at one.
The number of positive cases in Pennsylvania reached 55,316, an increase of 1,078 from Friday. The 26 to 49 year old age group has the most positive cases with 37 percent of the 55,316 cases. Reported deaths in Pennsylvania attributed to confirmed cases increased by 72 to 3,688.
These positive tested totals reflect how many people have tested positive since the Department of Health started recording and not how many people are currently ill.
While 55,316 have tested positive in the state, 221,791 have tested negative. In Indiana County, have 871 tested negative.
