The Steelers have announced the jersey numbers their new players will sport this season. Their top draft choice, second-round wide receiver Chase Claypool, will wear number 11. Third-round linebacker Alex Highsmith will have number 56.
Other rookie numbers:
Running back Anthony McFarland – 26
Guard Kevin Dotson – 69
Strong Safety Antoine Brooks Jr. – 25
Nose tackle Carlos Davis – 73
The numbers worn by veteran free agents who have joined the team were also revealed yesterday. Tight end Eric Ebron will wear number 85. Fullback Derek Watt will have number 44. Guard/center Stefen Wisniewski, number 61; defensive end Chris Wormsley, number 95.
The NFL is establishing its plan to reopen team facilities. NFL Network reports Roger Goodell sent a memo to teams to set protocols, including state government consent, club infection response teams and more. Goodell wants all clubs to have the protocols in place by next Friday.
The first phase would involve 50 percent of non-player personnel on any single day, being approved to be at the facility. But state or local regulations could require a lower number. No players would be permitted in the facility except to continue therapy and rehabilitation for injuries.
