PSP-INDIANA
A crash from late October in White Township has been categorized as a DUI collision. State Police are reporting on the crash that happened on October 25th at 4:40 PM on Wayne Avenue. That’s when 55-year-old Jeffrey Rauso of Homer City crashed his car into the car of an un-named Indiana woman. Rauso was taken into custody at the time on suspicion of DUI and possession of un-prescribed pills. Rauso was also taken to IRMC for a blood test, and the results showed that he had illegal narcotics in his system. Charges were filed with District Judge Susanne Steffee.
Another DUI was reported, this one on Thanksigivng day in Blairsville. State Police say an 18-year-old Blairsville man was stopped for a traffic violation and was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. He will face charges through District Judge Jennifer Rega’s office at a later date.
No one was hurt in a crash involving a deer Thanksgiving Day on Route 119. State Police say Joshua Schutz of Punxsutawney was driving South on 119 in White Township when he hit a deer with his car. The car was disabled and had to be towed.
PSP-GREENSBURG
State Police in Greensburg have said that a pedestrian was injured in a crash on Tuesday in Derry Township. This was in a parking lot on Elizabeth way. 26-year-old Christopher Whittaker of New Alexandria was trying to leave the parking lot when he ran over the foot of 36-year-old William Nicholson. Nicholson was taken to Latrobe Hospital for treatment of his injuries, the severity of which is not known at this time.
