It’s not like we need a reminder of how many people are stepping in to help during the Covid-19 pandemic, but here’s another example.
The local chapter of the American Red Cross says Indiana County has been “incredibly generous” as local blood drives have been held throughout the crisis. They are grateful for the organizations that have allowed the use of their facilities and for the donors, especially new donors.
Here are the upcoming blood drives in Indiana County:
May 13: Clymer American Legion 1:00 – 6:30
May 14: Homer City American Legion 2:00 – 6:30
May 19: Brush Valley Fire Hall 1:30 – 6:00
May 22: Plumville Fire Hall 1:30 – 7:00
May 29: Penn Run Fire Hall 1:00 – 6:00
Donors are still encouraged to make an appointment ahead of time by calling 1-800-RED CROSS or visiting redcrossblood.org. At most sites, walk-ins will not be admitted.
Also, enhanced safety measures will be utilized at all blood drives. All donors are asked to bring masks that cover both the mouth and nose and if you do not have one, it will be provided.
