The latest data on U.S. Census responses shows Indiana County with a 3.9 percent increase in the last week, to 53.8 percent. The state rate is 58.5 percent, a 4.2 percent increase over the past week. The numbers are as of May 2nd.
Indiana County is led by Black Lick Township, Conemaugh Township, and Cherryhill Township for the second week in a row. Homer City Borough residents made a big effort last week, jumping from 15th to 4th among the county’s municipalities. The rest of the top ten in response rates are the townships of Rayne, Armstrong, Buffington, Brush Valley, South Mahoning, and East Mahoning.
Along with Homer City, North Mahoning and Brush Valley townships also made double-digit percentage increases this week.
The bottom five in response rates are all boroughs. Armagh lags behind with only 10.7 percent responding. Cherry Tree, Ernest, Glen Campbell, and Creekside rank just ahead, but all with response rates of 13.7 percent or lower.
