A driver and a passerby were injured in connection with a crash that happened Thursday afternoon near Home.
The Marion Center Fire Department was dispatched to Tanoma Road near Skyline Drive around 1:15 in the afternoon. Assistant chief Gavin Misko said that a pickup truck was going west on Tanoma and failed to negotiate a sharp curve in the roadway. The truck went over an embankment, struck a utility pole and rolled over twice before landing on its roof. The driver, who was not identified, was taken to Indiana Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. Misko believes that the cause of the crash may have been a medical emergency, but the exact cause is still under investigation by state police.
One other person was injured in connection with the accident as a passerby went to help the driver of the truck but got caught up in the electric wire while doing so. The passerby was treated for minor burns to the hands on-scene and released.
