As was the case with yesterday’s Class A team, the Pennsylvania Sports Writers Class AA All-State basketball team includes no Heritage Conference players and only one player for District 6. That’s third-teamer Jessiah Witherspoon of Bishop Guilfoyle.
The first team consists of state Player of the Year Nisine Poplar, a 6-4 junior from Philadelphia’s Math, Civics & Science charter school; Keshaun Hammonds of Constitution High School in Philadelphia; Jake DiMichele and Dante Spadafora of Our lady of Sacred Heart in Pittsburgh, Andy Zuchelli of North Star (in District 5); and Abe Atiyeh of Moravian Academy. Only five of the eighteen All-State Double-A players come from traditional public schools.
