At Monday night’s meeting, the Marion Center School Board approved a four-year contract with the Marion Center Education Association.
The contract between the district and the teachers union will allow raises over each year of the contract starting next school year. The raises will average out to an increase of 2.96 percent over the length of the contract. Health care options remain the same.
District Superintendent Clint Weimer said that the negotiations were not affected by the Covid-19 outbreak.
In other business, the district approved the calendar for the 2020-2021 school year. The first day of school will be August 26th, 2020 and graduation is set for June 3rd, 2021. Like other districts, the Marion Center School Board is looking at every option for the start of the next school year.
Also, the board approved the ICTC budget at the meeting. Marion Center’s share comes to $700,947.
