IUP President Dr. Michael Driscoll announced in his weekly YouTube address to students that how IUP’s fall semester will look remains uncertain.
In his video, he announced that outreach effort to new and continuing students is still going on, with the first Destination IUP virtual event last Monday to discuss student life and other items. Also, the Graduate Admissions virtual open house saw 90 people attend last week. And plans are to hold the Undergraduate Summer Opportunities for Applying Research, better known as U-SOAR. The former research experience for summer scholars program will be held in a virtual fashion later this year. Details on the program are at www.IUP.edu. But for the fall semester, it’s still uncertain whether it will be normal face to face instruction or if the university has to go to alternate plans.
Driscoll says the university will continue to monitor the situation.
Driscoll also announced that over $181,000 was raised for the Emergency Response Fund, and over 130 students have been aided by it.
