State police have released more information on a fiery crash that happened Monday morning in Center Township.
The crash happened around 4:43 a.m. along Route 286 just east of Young Road. Troopers say a truck driven by 20-year-old Dustin Yarger of Mayport was driving too fast for the road conditions in the westbound lane when negotiating a right curve. Yarger drove off the roadway and struck a nearby utility pole on the left side.
Initial scanner reports said ammunition was in the backseat and was going off as the fire burned.
Yarger suffered suspected minor injurie but declined to be taken to a hospital. Troopers charged him with a summary traffic violation.
