A couple of area high school basketball teams stumbled in the initial playoff outings last night. Both the Indiana girls and the Penns Manor boys lost their first round games.

At Bald Eagle Area, the Penns Manor Comets never settled in for their game against St. Joseph in the District 6 Class A playoffs. Here’s Todd Marino.
St. Joseph’s will play Harmony in the semifinals after the Owls tripped up Bishop McCort, 76-70. Class A boys top seed Portage eliminated Conemaugh Valley, 82-62. The Mustangs will face Juniata Valley in the semis after the Hornets knocked off Williamsburg, 70-67.
The District 6 boys Double-A playoffs resume tonight with the United Lions hosting the Homer-Center Wildcats, at 6:45 on U92.5 FM and U92radio.com. It’s one of four games involving Heritage Conference boys teams in the Double-A bracket. Cambria Heights visits Mount Union, with the winner to play the winner of Homer-Center/United on Saturday night. In the lower half of the bracket, Northern Cambria travels to Southern Huntingdon and West Shamokin visits West Branch. All four winners tonight will earn a trip to the state tournament.
