WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Four starters on the IUP women’s basketball team have made the grade- literally – in the classroom too, as they were named this week to the 2022-23 Academic All-District® Women’s Basketball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators.
Gina Adams, Kiera Baughman, Maria Cerro, and Teirra Preston are all outstanding students.
Adams has a cumulative 3.83 GPA as a marketing major, Baughman a 3.7 GPA majoring in kinesiology health & sport science, Cerro a 3.75 GPA in early childhood education and Preston a 4.00 GPA in nursing.Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-March.FIELD HOCKEY
The National Field Hockey Coaches Association has named IUP a 2022 NFHCA DII Academic Team, presented by TopSticks. Posting a cumulative team GPA of 3.61, IUP ranked fourth among the top team GPAs for the fall semester, listed as one of nine DII programs.
