Already faced with financial struggles entering the year, now the Indiana VFW might be sold after 90 years of operations.
Members received a letter this week announcing that the golf course would not open this year. Additionally, members were asked to return a post card to vote “Yes” or “No” on selling the golf course.
Prior to COVID-19, actually dating back to mid-December, 2019, VFW Post 1989 leaders wondered how to sustain the golf club and it’s overall operations. They had hoped to maintain as many operations as possible in 2020, but the impact of Coronavirus may have been the tipping point.
The potential sale would include the golf course but but not the club social hall according to sources.
