According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, as of noon today, the number of positive Covid-19 cases in Indiana County increased by only three for a second straight day, from 59 to 62, with the number of Indiana County deaths attributed to Covid-19 remaining at four. The number of positives reached 59 on Thursday.
In Indiana County, Indiana – the 15701 zip code – has the most positive cases with 18, while Blairsville (or 15717) is second, now with 17.
Armstrong County’s total of positive cases remained at 43 and deaths at two, while Jefferson County stands at four positive cases and Cambria County’s total stayed 20, with one death. Westmoreland County positive cases reached 317, an increase of 10 from yesterday, while deaths remained at 17.
The state Department of Health made an adjustment to reported deaths on Thursday. Through Wednesday, the department reported deaths linked to positive and probable cases, but today the department issued an adjusted total linked only to confirmed cases. Pennsylvania deaths increased by 98 to 1,492.
The state is reporting that the number of positive cases in Pennsylvania reached 38,652, an increase of 1,599 from Thursday. The 26 to 49 year old age group has the most positive cases with 38 percent of the 38,652 cases.
While 38,652 have tested positive in the state, 147,491 have tested negative. In Indiana County, 538 have tested negative.
