According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, as of noon today, the number of positive Covid-19 cases in Indiana County increased by only three, from 56 to 59, with four deaths attributed to Covid-19. The number of positives reached 56 on Wednesday.
In Indiana County, Indiana – the 15701 zip code – has the most positive cases with 18, while Blairsville (or 15717) is second with 16.
Armstrong County’s total of positive cases ticked up by four to 43, with deaths remaining at two, while Jefferson County increased to four positive cases and Cambria County’s total was changed to 20, with one death. Westmoreland County positive cases reached 307, an increase of seven from yesterday, while deaths were adjusted from 20 to 17.
The state Department of Health made an adjustment to reported deaths. Through yesterday, the department reported deaths linked to positive and probable cases, but today the department issued an adjusted total linked only to confirmed cases. Deaths on Wednesday were reported as 1,622 and today the total has been adjusted to 1,394.
The state is reporting that the number of positive cases in Pennsylvania reached 37,053, an increase of 1,369 from Wednesday. The 26 to 49 year old age group has the most positive cases with 39 percent of the 35,684 cases.
While 37,053 have tested positive in the state, 142,061 have tested negative. In Indiana County, 488 have tested negative.
