Homer City and Aultman firefighters were dispatched shortly before five o’clock this morning for a vehicle crash with injuries on Route 286 in Center Township. The crash occurred at the intersection with Young Road and involved a truck that was off the road and in the woods on fire.
The truck was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived on the scene, and they reported that ammunition was in the truck and was firing as the fire burned. A utility guy wire also came down and Coal Run/McIntyre was summoned shortly after five o’clock to help with the fire, but that call was subsequently cancelled.
There is no word on the extent of the injuries, nor how many people were in the truck.
