Middle and High School Students in Indiana County are encouraged to take part in a contest where they can create a video to increase awareness to the heroin and opioid problem.
Senator Don White has announced the “Talk to your Senator” contest, where students in Middle and High Schools can make a five-minute video to highlight ways to combat drug abuse among young people, help those who suffer from addiction and develop laws to address the problems. The contest is open to kids in grades six to 12, and videos will be graded on creativity, content, and effectiveness of message delivery.
A total of $10,000 in cash will be given away to winning entries and that money will be awarded via TAP 529 savings accounts to be used for college. The deadline to enter is December 10th. To enter or get more details on the contest, log on to www.acommonwealthcrisis.com.
