A Colver woman was arraigned on Wednesday for charges connected with the death of her husband in July.
State police say 36-year-old Lauren Marie Bingaman was charged with felony counts of Drug Delivery Resulting in Death, and Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession with Intent to Deliver, along with four misdemeanor counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person for an incident dating back to July 2.
On that day, state police were dispatched to assist EMS with a person experiencing a possible drug overdose at a home along Franklin Street in Clymer Borough. Despite the use of Narcan and other life-saving efforts, the person, later identified as 34-year-old Daniel Carl Bingaman of Clymer, died because of the overdose. Two days later, an autopsy was conducted by the Westmoreland County Coroner’s Office and it revealed that Bingaman died from acute intoxication from the combination of fentanyl and xylazine. Toxicology reports also found those drugs, along with norfentanyl.
While investigating on-scene, troopers noticed Lauren present with several young children that were within reach of potentially lethal drug paraphernalia, and through interviews with her and tracing cell phone records, police determined she purchased stamp bags containing fentanyl and xylazine, which they believed Daniel used before his death.
Bingaman was arraigned before Magisterial Judge Christopher Welch and lodged in Indiana County Jail in lieu of $250,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 27 at 1 p.m.
