Voting begins today on a new one-year contract for faculty members at IUP and the thirteen other state-owned universities.
Members of APSCUF, the faculty union at the State System of Higher Education schools, will vote between today and Wednesday on a tentative contract agreement that was announced on October 17th. The votes will be counted on Friday at the union’s headquarters in Harrisburg, and if approved the contract would be sent to the State System Board of Governors. If ratified, the labor deal would begin on July 1st next year, replacing the current deal that expires on June 30th.
APSCUF says that with this being only a one-year deal, new contract negotiations will begin next summer.
