Indiana County first responders had a busy day on Monday.
Along with the car crash that was reported in the early evening hours, a crash was reported in Burrell Township at 11:39 AM. Blairsville and Black Lick fire departments were dispatched along with Citizens’ Ambulance and State Police. Fire officials said that it was a rear-end collision at the intersection of Route 22 and Villa Road. One person was injured in the incident.
Both departments would be called out again to a single wide trailer on Liekert Avenue in Palmerton, Burrell Township for a stove fire. No fire was visible from the outside, but crews went inside with water cans. As it turned out, something either burned or melted on a stove. Gas was secured on the scene, and the mobile home was naturally ventilated, according to Black Lick fire crews.
Indiana Fire Association was called out for another vehicle crash on Route 422 West near Cheese Run Road at 6:04 PM for a motor vehicle crash that involved a parked state police cruiser. No injuries were reported, and damage was minor. State police and Citizens’ Ambulance were also dispatched at the time.
