Police in Clymer have charged a Pitcarin woman with drug-related crimes connected to an incident at Tate’s Supermarket yesterday.
Police say they were dispatched to the supermarket on 4th Street in Clymer Borough at 1:22 PM for an initial report of someone passing bad checks. Police found 39-year-old Tiffany Anne Jackson was looking for a phone she said she left at the market. Police said that a heavy marijuana odor was coming from her person and then asked to search her backpack. They found her to be in possession of a brick of heroin, 20 stamp bags as well as two individual bags that contained a white powdered substance.
When police ran her name through their computer systems, they found that she had an active warrant out for her arrest from the McKeesport police department for a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
She was charged with possession of a controlled substance and of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to deliver and disorderly conduct. Jackson was arraigned by Judge Christopher Welch and was placed in Indiana County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
