After Friday’s Heritage Conference championships, the area’s high school basketball teams begin preparing this week for the District 6 playoffs. All four of Friday’s finalists will be among the favorites to win their classification. River Valley’s girls play in Triple A and are currently seeded third. Homer-Center’s girls are currently 4th in Double A. The United boys are 1st in Double A and the Portage boys are 1st in Class A.
United Coach Matt Rodkey was proud of his team for not giving up when they were down, which should serve them well in the District 6 playoffs.
River Valley’s Ava Persichetti says the Panthers will use the heritage Conference championship as a springboard for the District 6 playoffs, and hopefully beyond.
Teams can still improve their positions. Games through this Wednesday count toward each team’s rank. District 6 will release playoff information on Thursday.
Tune in to Indiana in the Morning this morning at 8:45 as the River Valley Panthers girls’ basketball team will join the show.
