While the number of Coronavirus cases remains steady in Indiana County, there is a report that the county has its first Coronavirus-related death.
Indiana County Coroner Jerry Overman, Jr. confirmed to Your Hometown Radio Stations today that a person died due to Covid-19 or Covid-19 related causes. While he did not identify the victim, Overman said that the person was an older person. The news was initially reported by County Commissioner Sherene Hess in a post on her Twitter feed.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health reports that Indiana County has 43 confirmed cases of Covid-19, which remains the same as yesterday. Westmoreland County’s Coronavirus case count increased by three to 231, with the Department of Health reporting only six deaths from Covid-19. The Westmoreland County Coroner has said that another two deaths of Covid-19 were reported to him, bringing his count to 15 deaths in the county since the start of the pandemic. Armstrong County has one reported death as their case load remained the same at 28. Cambria County’s case total remained the same at 14, Clearfield County’s total is at nine and Jefferson County still has two confirmed Covid-19 cases.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health reports that 25,345 cases of Covid-19 are confirmed in Pennsylvania, which represents an increase of 1146. The number of deaths in Pennsylvania increased by sixty to 584 deaths in the state as of today.
