The River Valley School Board held a special meeting last night with several different items on the agenda.
One of the items on the agenda was the purchase of a stadium scoreboard from Institutional Specialists, Inc. at the cost of $274,900. Beverly Carnese wanted to table the purchase until the audit report comes in next month. She felt that the price tag was high for the scoreboard, but board president Rick Harper said that a good portion of the cost was covered by donations, with advertising revenue expected to cover the rest.
The motion to table the purchase failed, and the vote to purchase passed 5-3 with Carnese, Jessica Clawson and Melanie Pantalone voting no.
The board also accepted the resignation of assistant superintendent Dr. Holly Rougeaux. Her last day will be February 17th.
