Center Township Supervisors discussed some road work operations at last night’s meeting.
One of the big projects was the completion of paving a portion of Six Flat Road which happened in mid-October. Over a half-mile of road was paved, and the project came in around $1300 under budget. The paving job actually received some praise from citizens in attendance, but because it’s now asphalt, it is bringing about some speeders, so supervisors are asking drivers to watch their speed on that road.
In other business, Smith Road near Farm Lane is closed for a bridge replacement project. All emergency services are notified of the closure, and supervisor Dave Smyers says he hopes the work will go quickly. Crews have 30 days to complete the project, but they are hoping to complete the project by Thanksgiving.
The supervisors also talked about the work on Johnson Road, which had a washout recently on the edge of the road. The work on that project was paid for through a grant from the Conservation District.
