Pitt seized the opportunity to get a share of first place in the ACC last night, blasting Louisville, 91-57, prompting Cardinals coach Kenny Payne to call the Panthers, the most complete, toughest team he’s seen this year.
Nike Sibande led Pitt with 15 points, Greg Elliott had 14, and Nelly Cummings, Blake Hinson, and freshman Guillermo Diaz Graham all scored 11. Pitt blocked 13 shots, including four by Diaz Graham and five by his twin brother, Jorge. The Panthers passing game was sharp, with 23 assists on the night.
In all, it was a very satisfying evening for coach Jeff Capel, with one exception.
Tied with Clemson for first place in the ACC, Pitt travels to Florida State on Saturday.
