On Monday Night, the Center Township Supervisors met at the township building, but met in the driveway to practice social distancing. During the meeting, they approved a permit to allow the garage built by John and Rosemary Bertolino near Cherry Alley to be up.
The Bertolinos were fined by District Judge Suzanne Steffee for failing to obtain a building permit prior to erecting the garage, but on February 21st, Donna Graham conveyed to them all her property interest in the area between the two properties, which covers Cherry Alley. After reviewing a survey made in September of 2018, it was determined that the garage is more than six feet from Graham’s property line, and no longer needs a variance for the setback.
Supervisors chairman Dave Smyers said that now that the matter is out of the Township’s hands, people will have to use the court system to file their complaints.
In other business, the supervisors accepted the resignation of Frank Galasso as the township’s auditor.
