IUP has posted details on refunds for students who had to move out of on-campus housing.
In a letter from Dr. Thomas Segar, the vice president for Student Affairs, it was announced that refunds for eligible students will be issued starting next week, and will be done via direct deposit or by check. Students who were asked to leave the residence halls will be given a pro-rated refund of the housing and commissions fee for March 16th through May 9th. Room damages will be taken out of that refund.
Prorated refunds are also being offered for meal plans, but it depends on whether the student lived in the residence halls or off campus. Residence hall students that left campus will receive a refund prorated to March 16th, including any unused flex dollars. If a student has to remain on campus, the meal plan was reduced to a 14-meal per week plan and a prorated refund will be offered if the meal plan they had previously was more expensive. Off-campus students with meal plans will be offered a choice between two meal plans and if the meal plan they had is more expensive, a prorated refund will be offered.
For the wellness fee, all students will receive 25% of their pro-rated fee, as some student wellness services are still available. Parking fees will also be pro-rated, and the student activity fee refund will be calculated based on unused student activity funds.
If a student had a balance due on their account, a refund payment will not be made, and if a fee has not been paid or paid in full, a refund for the fee will not be available.
