In a special legislative assembly conference call, the leaders of APSCUF, the faculty union at the State System of Higher Education schools, voted 101-1 yesterday to move forward with a vote on their tentative one-year contract agreement.
Faculty members at IUP and the thirteen other universities in the System will vote November 13th through the 15th. The votes will be counted on Friday, November 17th, at the union’s office in Harrisburg. If approved, the one-year deal would take effect on July 1st next year, the day after the current contract expires.
Upon union approval, the contract would be forwarded to the State System Board of Governors for their consideration. Details of the tentative contract agreement will be released after ratification. Since it’s only for one year, APSCUF President Kenneth Mash says negotiations on the next contract would begin next summer.
APSCUF also represents State System coaches. Their contract expires in 2019.
