The United Way of Indiana County has announced the receipt of $43,388 in federal funds and the opening of the application process for that money.
In a news release, the money comes from the federal Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program, with the funds administered by the Department of Homeland Security. The funds are meant to support and expand the work of local service agencies with food, shelter, rent/mortgage and utility assistance. The money is available to local non-profit, faith-based or government organizations that assist in those areas.
Public or private volunteer organizations interested in applying for the funds can do so through an application form on the United Way of Indiana County’s website at https://www.uwindianacounty.org/efsp . The deadline to apply is February 24th at noon.
