In Indiana County Court today, a number of defendants are scheduled for sentencing.
One of them is 38-year-old Justin Ludwig of Warren, PA, who walked away from the SpiritLife recovery facility in Cherryhill Township last May, burglarized a home and attempted the armed robbery of Pike’s Peak Nursery. While he was pointing the gun at two employees, one of them rushed Ludwig, tackled and disarmed him, forcing him outside where police soon arrived and took Ludwig into custody.
Ludwig pleaded guilty to robbery with the threat of immediate serious injury in that case, and to burglary and theft for the break-in, which was at a home along North Harmony Road. He stole the gun used in the robbery attempt, three other guns, jewelry, and other items.
Other defendants scheduled for sentencing today are :
- 33-year-old Joseph Daniel Hill of Indiana, who will be sentenced in three separate cases, for guilty pleas to theft, theft by deception, retail theft, and recklessly endangering.
- 24-year-old Paige Baily Johnson of Indiana will also be sentenced in three cases. She pleaded guilty to retail theft, two counts of theft from a motor vehicle, and possession of a controlled substance.
- 44-year-old Tammy Marie Powell of Clymer will be sentenced in a forgery case. She pleaded guilty to accessing a device with in a counterfeit, altered, or incomplete manner.
- 32-year-old Allen Karl Palmer of New Florence will be sentenced for aggravated assault, simple assault, and harassment. He fired a BB gun at a woman inside a West Wheatfield Township home in January of 2019.
- 24-year-old Travis Repinski of Blairsville will be sentenced for carrying a firearm without a license.
- 24-year-old Justin Maloney of Wyomissing, PA will have Plea Court today on two counts of possession with intent to deliver and one count of simple possession.
