There will be some temporary changes to the curbside recycling program for Indiana Borough and White Township starting on April 13th to help mitigate the spread of Covid-19.
Starting on Monday, April 13th, the Indiana County Solid Waste Authority will have curbside collection of newspapers and #1 and 2 plastics only until further notice. Newspapers should be bagged or tied when put out for recycling. The change has been put in place to protect the health of recycling workers and the public by reducing the hand sorting of materials.
Other recyclable materials like cardboard, glass, yard waste and cans can continue to be dropped off at the Indiana County Recycling Center on Route 119 just north of Homer City. No word yet on when curbside recycling will return to normal.
