There will be some road closures in effect as some paving takes place today in Indiana Borough.
Indiana Borough Public Works Director Dave Fairman has announced that several paving projects take place today. Areas that will be affected are Church Street from 6th to 9th Streets, The 600 Block of Gompers Avenue from 6th Street to Carpenter Avenue, and East Avenue to 2nd Street. Again, no parking signs will be posted in those areas, and traffic may be blocked in those zones as well.
In addition to the roadwork, scaffolding will start to go up today as renovators begin work on the Community Center building that houses the Indiana Free Library, the Jimmy Stewart Museum and Downtown Indiana, Inc. The scaffolding will go up on the 9th street side of the building and the rear, so pedestrian traffic may be blocked along 9th street.
