SOUTH MAHONING TOWNSHIP
State police report the theft of more than $2,000 worth of items from a South Mahoning Township home.
It happened sometime between June 1st of last year and February 14th of this year. The victims are a 92-year-old man and 89-year-old woman who live along Route 210 near Johnston Road. More than $2,000 worth of jewelry was taken, along with gold coins, Susan B. Anthony gold coins, and a BB gun.
WHITE TOWNSHIP
Someone slashed the tires on one vehicle and scratched another parked along Fifth Avenue in White Township between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. Police say all four tires were slashed on one vehicle and a wallet was stolen from it. The victims are 38-year-old man and a 59-year-old man, both from Indiana.
CLYMER BOROUGH/CHERRYHILL TOWNSHIP
Clymer Borough Police tracked down a Penn Run man who’s accused of assaulting a woman Wednesday evening. Police responding to a home in the 400 block of Hancock Street say the victim claimed that 25-year-old Barry Lynn Long had choked her until she could not breathe. She had visible signs of recent physical abuse leading police to obtain an arrest warrant for Long, who was later taken into custody at another residence in Penn Run. He’s charged with felony strangulation, misdemeanor simple assault, and summary harassment and criminal mischief.
After arraignment before District Judge Bob Bell, Long was released on $10,000 unsecured bond.
