Men’s coach Joe Lombardi says it’s hard to expect IUP to go undefeated, but they’re going to go hard every night because every team they play wants to knock off number one.
The IUP men are the top-rated team in the nation for the fifth consecutive week in the coaches poll, but inexplicably, they fell to number two in the media poll. IUP and Nova Southeastern are the only two undefeated teams left in Division Two.
In the coaches poll, IUP is number one, followed by Nova Southeastern, Lincoln Memorial, Central Oklahoma, and Colorado School of Mines. Mercyhurst entered the Top 25 at number 20, while this Saturday’s opponent, East Stroudsburg, fell from number 14 to number 25. Those are the only other PSAC schools in the Top 25.
