Social distancing has not slowed the spread of flu in Indiana County in the past week. The latest state flu report says the county added 64 new confirmed cases. That’s nine more than last week’s report. Indiana County has had 839 flu cases since the season began last fall, and Type A is gaining on Type B. Of the 64 new cases last week, 53 of them were Type A. For the season, there have been 350 Type A cases and 489 Type B.
Armstrong County added only 26 new flu cases last week and stands at 591.
Cambria County’s new cases slowed, as they had 64 new cases, bringing their total to 1,719.
Clearfield County continues to suffer, with 135 new cases last week raising their season total to 1,205. Clearfield County flu cases had risen by 127 and 160 in the previous two weeks.
Jefferson County’s total is 663. They added 62 last week, up three from the week before.
Westmoreland County’s pace is falling, adding 156 new cases last week to bring its total to 3,538.
Ten more people died from flu-related illness last week in Pennsylvania. That brings the season total to 93.
