In response to the coronavirus closures from Governor Tom Wolf, PennDOT has announced that they are closing its driver’s license centers for two weeks and suspending all construction projects until further notice.
The closures are in addition to those already in effect in five eastern counties. Because of those closures, PennDOT said that it will extend deadlines for driver’s licenses, identification cards, vehicle registrations and safety and emission inspections. If those items and placards for persons with disabilities have an expiration date between now and March 31st, those deadlines have been extended until April 30th.
The closures are also affecting road construction as PennDOT district and county maintenance offices are closed, and construction projects have been suspended until further notice. PennDOT crews will be available to perform critical functions and emergency maintenance when needed.
All PennDOT-run welcome centers and rest stops have been closed as well.
